FL- North Pointe revamps artisan contractors program

North Pointe has made significant changes to its artisan program. The changes go in effect for business effective beginning October 1st. The one that will jump out at you the most is a change in the minimum premium which will be $750. Remember, this is a policy minimum premium, so if the policy includes property or inland marine that will fall in the $750 minimum charge. The changes include additional class codes. The changes also include several policy enhancements giving your clients more bang for the additional buck:

  • $2,000 Business Personal Property (at insured’s primary business premises)- direct loss, excluding theft.
  • $1,000 Extra Expense Coverage (necessary to continue operations immediately following an insured loss).
  • $1,000 Accounts Receivables Coverage (at insured’s primary business premises).
  • $1,000 Outdoor Signs (at insured’s primary business premises)
  • $1000 Installation Floater Coverage (at premises of installation)
  • Automatic Additional Insureds - any entity you are required in a written contract to name as an insured with respect to liability for injury or damage caused by your acts or omissions, acts or omissions of someone acting on your behalf in connection with your work for the additional insured or acts or omissions of the additional insured in connection with the general supervision of your work, subject to the agreements, limits exclusions and conditions of the insurance policy.
  • Waiver of Subrogation of the company’s rights of recovery against others to them because of payments they make for injury or damages arising out of the insureds ongoing operations of work done under a contract with any person or organization.

There are other optional coverages available, so if you require a coverage, please ask your underwriter.

Make sure you discard any North Pointe artisan easy rater/documents you may have, as they will be obsolete. The new rating has become a little more detailed and we currently have no plans to send out a revised Easy Rater at this time.
